International Information Agency "Russia Today" is created on the basis of the liquidated RIA Novosti

Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On several measures to improve efficiency of state-owned media". According to the document, a new federal state unitary enterprise "International News Agency "Russia Today" is created in Russia. Dmitry Kiselev is appointed the Director General.
The assets used by "RIA Novosti" and the Russian State Broadcasting Company "Voice of Russia" including those locating abroad are transferred in the operational management of the International Information Agency "Russia Today".
According to the decree of the President of Russia, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Information Agency "RIA Novosti" (Moscow) is liquidated.
And the Federal State-financed Organisation "State Fund for Television and Radio Programs" (Moscow) is also liquidated with subsequent transfer of the property assigned to it to the economic management of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company".
Federal State Institution "Russian Book Chamber" is transmitted to the economic management of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS)".
