Rustem Khamitov attended a meeting regarding payments for natural gas supply
On October 29, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov attended a meeting devoted to the payment obligations for natural gas supply, held by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev as a video conference, the press service of the head of the region informs.
During the meeting, the Gazprom head Alexey Miller suggested moving to advance payment system for domestic gas.
Dmitry Medvedev supported the idea.
"I support the proposals that have been made, including a possibility of advance payment system," said the Prime Minister .
In addition, Dmitry Medvedev noted that he supported a proposal to place metering devices in resources supplying companies enabling remote information reception.
"Unfortunately, drastic measures are unavoidable. I would like everyone present here understand this. We are talking about the measures taken within the framework of existing agreements on energy supply, and supply of gas, but it is , of course, strict measures to be taken by law-enforcement officials and penalties to be imposed by judicial structures", the Prime Minister said.
Consumer debt for gas all over the country amounts to more than 100 billion rubles, in Bashkortostan - to 1.6 billion rubles.
