New professional holiday – Day of Investigation Bodies Employees is founded in Russia

The Day of Investigation Bodies Employees of Russia will be annually marked on July 25. The new professional holiday is approved by the Governmental Order of Russia the day before. The Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev put his signature to the document.

The holiday date is chosen not casually. Peter the Great by Edict of his Imperial Majesty from July 25, 1713 founded the M.I.Volkonsky’s Investigative Chancellery which became the first state body of Russia subordinate directly to the head of the state and invested with authorities on preliminary investigation carrying out.
