Dmitry Medvedev and Rustem Khamitov have discussed priority issues of petrochemical complex development

The Prime Minister of the Government of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has held a meeting with the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

It should be mentioned that the head of the cabinet has arrived to Blagoveshchensk for meeting concerning the strategy of chemical industry development till 2030. The meeting took place at JSC Polief.

Dmitry Medvedev noted with satisfaction that in Bashkortostan proprietors of industrial productions are requested to «increase manufacture according to the most advanced ecological standards, with implementing treatment facilities».

Rustem Khamitov underlined that for Bashkortostan environment protection was especially vexed question due to 60 years of petrochemical complex functioning in the republic.

The President RB told about separate directions of environment protection in the region, including the agreement between the Government RB and JSOC Bashneft according to which the oil company «establishes automatic facilities for control over emissions into atmosphere and discharges to water objects». Besides, according to Rustem Khamitov, the republican Government purchases automated air monitoring systems and mobile automatic recorders.

Oil refining, petrochemistry and chemistry provide 40 percent of tax revenues of the republic, Rustem Khamitov said.

Besides, low-tonnage chemistry develops in the republic. According to Rustem Khamitov, “it is a special subject, and it should be rendered assistance”. Dmitry Medvedev added that any processing with the added cost provides local jobs and additional revenues.
