“We continue to build specialised sports objects, including “artificial ice” sports facility especially for a deaf asylum. Besides we build a channel for water slalom. It will probably be one of the first in the Russian Federation. Sportsmen-professionals, including sportsmen-invalids will be trained there. In rural settlements in one of regions we have constructed a centre for Paralympic sportsmen costing 150 million rbl.: there is a swimming pool, winter stadium and other facilities there. We have a good, interesting project - the centre for Paralympic sports. We have already invested there together with the Ministry of Sports about 400 million rbl., the so-called zero cycle is finished.”
The head of the region said that «the project’s total cost is 2,3 billion. 1,9 billion are necessary to put it into operation in December, 2014. This year we will be able to use 700-800 million more and next year to finish and commission it definitely. I ask Dmitry Anatolevich to help us in getting this modern, interesting sports centre. Besides, a research guidance centre on adaptive medicine will work as a part of this centre, and Bashkir State Institute of Physical Training and Health can be located in the same place. That is to create a kind of sports cluster».
Dmitry Medvedev thanked Rustem Khamitov for his essential report on the discussed subject and said that the republic’s request would be considered, and he would personally consider «what can be done in this relation».
