United Russia nominated Alexander Degtyaryov for the head of the State Duma Ethics Commission

Parliamentary fraction "United Russia" has put forward the Chairman of the Duma Education Committee Alexander Degtyaryov as the candidate on the post of the head of the State Duma Ethics Commission. The candidate was elected by ballot on an alternative basis. The final decision will be accepted by the State Duma today, on March 20, ER.ru informs.

Under the package agreement which was reached between fractions in the convocation beginning, the post of the chairman of the head of the Ethics Commission was fixed to "United Russia". This post became vacant after the decision of the Commission former head Vladimir Pehtin to resign before his term ends. Last Friday the Duma terminated his powers.

«It is no coincidence that by majority of votes colleagues supported Alexander Degtyaryov», the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma, the secretary of the General Council of "United Russia" Sergey Neverov commented on the decision. «We know Alexander Nikolaevich as a person with faultless reputation, he has authority with not only colleagues on the fraction, but also as a whole in the State Duma», the Vice-Speaker added.
