Project of innovative payment products introduction is developed in Bashkortostan

A meeting took place in the Government of Bashkortostan on discussion of cooperation directions with MasterCard international payment system and "Uralsib" Bank in the sphere of innovative payment products and services development on the threshold of the SCO and BRICS Summits which will be held in Ufa in 2015.
Vice-Premiers Salavat Sagitov and Dmitry Sharonov, the chairman of the National Bank of Bashkortostan Republic Rustem Mardanov, representatives of MasterCard international payment system and banking community took part in the session.
Representatives of the banking community suggested developing and implementing the project «Innovative payment products and services development in Bashkortostan Republic», directed on supporting the meeting of SCO heads at high innovative and technological level.
Representatives of MasterCard company presented the system of contactless payment on the basis of MasterCardPayPass technology allowing to simplify and accelerate payment for goods and services.
The preliminary decision was made on working out and introduction of so-called «guest cards» which will be given to all participants of the SCO and BRICS Summits. The card, besides its basic payment function will contain a package of excursions and tickets to museums, will allow Ufa guests taking part in excursion programs, and receiving discounts and bonuses on public transport fares, taxi and purchase of goods in the trading-service enterprises of the capital. Also by means of special terminals visitors of Bashkortostan will receive full information about the city, infrastructure objects, tourism and location maps.
“Now offers from the banking sector are under consideration on introduction of contactless payment system on the basis of MasterCardPayPass technology. It is important that all created system and infrastructure will be in demand in Bashkortostan and after carrying out of the SCO and BRICS Summits. It is planned to use guest cards further for businessmen and tourists who will come to our region,” the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Salavat Sagitov commented on the results of the session.
