Rustem Khamitov has met with the professor of Tokyo Medical University Kazuo Umezava

On March 4, in the House of Republic the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a working meeting with the Professor of Aichi Medical University (Tokyo, Japan) Kazuo Umezawa. Issues of cooperation between the Republican Clinical Oncologic Dispensary and Kazuo Umezawa’s laboratory in the field of drugs development for intractable autoimmune and oncological diseases were discussed, the press-service of the head of the region informs.

Speaking about the purpose of his work, the scientist has underlined that it is connected with searching for a new medicine which could treat cancer and various inflammatory diseases.

“I have an experience of cooperation with scientists from Italy, Greece and the USA. However my special interest is generated by cooperation with the Ufa scientists. Our work with Shamil Gantsev proceeds very actively. I like very much the approach of the Bashkir scientists, they are very industrious. I like very much the Bashkir State Medical University and the republican Oncological Centre. I like to work with students, to bring up young generation. When I visited Ufa for the first time, I was quite impressed with the students here. That is why I want to bring the contribution to development of young generation. I am grateful to Rustem Khamitov that he found time to meet with me. Rustem Khamitov is a large scientist himself. I am glad that mister President approved our project,” M-r Umezawa said communicating with representatives of mass-media at the end of the meeting.
