Michael Babich and Rustem Khamitov took part in the solemn meeting in Ufa devoted to the Defender of the Fatherland Day

In Ufa the solemn meeting devoted to the Defender of the Fatherland Day where Michael Babich, the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Volga Federal District (PFO) and the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part.

“In Russia the Defender of the Fatherland Day is certainly a special holiday because each family is connected with our Fatherland defence,” Michael Babich marked. “These are, first of all, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, military men, and members of their families, those who work in the military-industrial complex. Summing up certain results, it should be said that during the last years it is done much to raise a social status of military men. Today I want to congratulate all citizens of Russia on the coming holiday.”

The President of the republic addressed with congratulation words to the audience.

“With all my heart I congratulate you on the coming Defender of the Fatherland Day,” Rustem Khamitov said. “It is, certainly, our national holiday, day of all patriots, devoted to the Fatherland, people protecting its interests in the most different spheres. It is our common holiday — the holiday of all Russians. Love to our native land, readiness to rise to its defence — these are moral bases on which we are brought up since early childhood. Russia needs strong efficient army, real professionals capable to manage with modern military equipment, having high moral, tactical and physical qualities. We can be proud of our youth by right: recruits from Bashkortostan are one of the most prepared soldiers. Today more than 15 thousand people serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. At our solemn meeting both senior and younger generation of military men are present. I congratulate you on this remarkable holiday! We appreciate you, we are proud of you.”

During the solemn meeting high state awards of the Russian Federation and Bashkortostan Republic were handed over. The meeting was continued by the concert of masters of the arts and culture of the republic.
