Delegation of Bashkortostan takes part in the V World Tatar Congress

Delegation of Bashkortostan takes part in the V World Tatar Congress. The Congress will start working in Kazan on December 6. The staff of Bashkir delegation consists of representatives of the majority of Republican municipalities. 115 people present Republic of Bashkortostan at the forum in total complexity and this is one of the most numerous delegations. 800 delegates from 61 regions, 218 compatriots from foreign countries, more than 300 guests and 120 journalists will participate in the forum’s work.

The V Congress is held in the year of the 20th anniversary of the World Tatar Congress establishment. The first Congress gathered in accordance with the decree of the President of Tatarstan in June 1992. At present time World Tatar Congress unites 376 national-cultural organizations. 203 organizations work in Russia and 123 – in foreign countries. 50 youth associations also work with the Congress executive committee. Consolidation of Tatar nation and its public communities, assistance to national-cultural, social-economic and spiritual development and participation in elaboration and implementation of goal-oriented programs in sphere of national-cultural development are the main goals of the Tatar Congress.

Totals in activity of the World Tatar Congress in 2007-2012 will be summed up at the forum. Further development of Tatar ethnos in the future and mechanisms for preservation of Tatar language and culture will be under discussion.
