Sergey Lavrentiev: “Karim Khakimov is the name, which allows us to build new bridges of humanitarian cooperation”

The first Khakimov’s readings “Russia and Arab world: history and up-to-dateness”, devoted to the native of Bashkortostan, prominent Soviet diplomat Karim Khakimov and held in Ufa today, arouse great interest in Russian and CIS scientific community. Many well-known Oriental scientists from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and many Russian regions are taking part in this scientific forum.

“The first Khakimov’s readings in Ufa have enlightener character and mainly oriented to youth” – the rector of the Bashkir Academy of public service and management under the President RB Sergey Lavrentiev said to the news agency “Bashinform” – “Khakimov’s readings attracted many well-known scientists because his personality as well as the theme “Russia-Arab world” don’t lose actuality. The Arab East is boiling up today and we see how the format of the society is changing there. All this can’t but affect Russia, since our country always had interests and strong positions in the Arab East”.

In opinion of Sergey Lavrentiev Khakimov’s readings should become traditional in Bashkortostan.
