Rustem Khamitov: “We have to involve business in ecological business undertakings more actively”

The President RB Rustem Khamitov has stated in his annual Message to State Council RB that the problem with solid waste recycling worsens in the Republic every year.

“An efficient system for solid waste recycling de facto absents here. At present time all volumes of waste are delivered for refuse dumps and junkyards, which quality and state are beneath all criticism. Now the Republic recycles less than 15% of waste” – Rustem Khamitov said.

As the President RB mentioned, it is necessary to develop business in sphere of waste recycling, found in embryo now.

“We have to be more active, involving business people in ecological business undertakings. For example, in Germany the annual circulation of this branch reaches dozens billion euros. In 2011 we’ve approved the Republican program for solid waste recycling till 2020. The total volume of its funding amounts to 7,5 billion rubles. The program includes the designing of the scheme for general cleaning of the whole Republican territory, based on town and regional layouts. In 2013 all municipalities have to prepare such documents. Within the frames of the program we worked up the pilot project for solid waste recycling on the base of the town of Sterlitamac and nearby regions. It is important after successful implementation of the project to spread this experience all over the Republic” – the President RB said.
