Rustem Khamitov: “Wages of culture workers will be doubled by 2018”

“The rise of culture workers’ wages is one more important problem. The problem to make their wages equal to average wage in economics by 2018 is posed before us, i.e. for five years these wages have to be doubled” – the President of Bashkortostan said, speaking with the annual Message to State Council RB today – “We will begin to solve this problem stage-by-stage beginning fr om the next year. We will work for provision of culture workers with housing too. I suggest that at least 50 million rubles should be allocated for acquisition of flats for them on the terms of co-financing in 2013 and such practice has to become annual”.

Rustem Khamitov indicated the necessity to strengthen material and technical base of culture institutions, repair of buildings and purchases of scenic equipment. Big sums will be spent for technical equipping of Ufa stages – Culture Palace “NEFTYANIK”, Ufa Congress-Hall, Bashkir State Theater of opera and ballet and others. Wide-scaled reconstruction of Bashkir Art Museum by Nesterov is planned too as well as designing and construction of a new building for the Bashkir Puppet Theater. The work for modernization of regional culture palaces, urban and rural culture clubs should be continued.

Besides, the President RB ordered Republican Ministry of culture to prepare a program for provision of children musical schools with new high-quality musical instruments.

“There are just few “Steinway” professional pianos in the Republic now but how can we train the future virtuosos if our young musicians are trained at schools, wh ere just very old and low-quality musical instruments are available?” – he asked.
