President of Bashkortostan suggested that 2013 should be announced the Year for environmental protection in the Republic

The President RB Rustem Khamitov suggested that 2013 should be announced the Year for environmental protection in his annual Message to State Council RB, taking the importance of ecological problems into account.

“First we have to turn to modern level of ecological monitoring in our towns” – the head of the Republic mentioned –“the use of telecommunication systems and automatic equipment will allow us to provide early disclose and prevention of air and water pollutions online. It is also important to have direct communication with population and activists should become the first helpers in struggle with infringers of ecological legislation. At that we have to provide unavoidability of punishment for all persons, guilty of such violations”.

Besides, Rustem Khamitov underscored the necessity to raise ecological culture of people, especially in youth sphere.

“We have to revive once forgotten “green” patrols, environmental societies at schools and volunteer detachments. We have to raise the theme of environmental protection as often as possible through numerous actions of public organizations and with the help of mass-media, warning that any pollution can boomerang against people” – the President RB stated.
