Rustem Khamitov:”Scientific products become real productive power nowadays”

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has taken part in work of the IV all-Russian sociology congress “Sociology and society: global challenges and regional development”, opened in Ufa today.

“This congress is a remarkable event for scientific community of the country and it is high honor for us to receive such important forum in Ufa” – Rustem Khamitov said, welcoming participants of the forum.

The President RB has expressed hope that Republican scientists and managers will use the chance to communicate with leading figures of Russian and foreign sociology and to receive answers to the complicated questions in full measure.

“We have many questions since our country is found at the stage of transition from one formation to another and today we are facing the problems, which existence we never suspected of before” – he said.

The head of the Republic has mentioned that economic crisis, geopolitical conflicts, ecological and religious problems as well as the growth of extremism are new for people, born in the Soviet Union.

“All these challenges demand all-sided investigation because all of them are present in our country”.

Talking to the participants of the forum Rustem Khamitov has mentioned that life poses problems in different spheres before us today.

“First of all we are talking about formation of high-tech science-intensive economics, the economics of knowledge. In the leading countries scientific products become real productive power nowadays, providing output with high added value. The main task for us today is to approach these countries and this is one of the key problems both for Russia and its regions”- the President RB said.

Rustem Khamitov called growth of poverty level, birth-rate falling, loss of family values, increase of social intensity because of diversity in people’s incomes, problems with production modernization and employment the social problems, which scientists are called to solve.

The President RB has underscored the role of sociologists in solution of these problems. They are the main helpers for the authority.

“For successful realization of state programs, projects and political initiatives we must have scientific substantiation of the decisions, made by officials and it is important for us to understand in what direction these or those social processes will be developed in the nearest future”.
