Bashkortostan celebrates the Day of Republic

On October 11, Bashkortostan marks its main holiday – the Day of Republic with intensive celebratory program.

The Salavat Yulaev’s State Award Ceremony of Bashkortostan Republic in the field of literature, art and architecture, the Shagit Hudaiberdin’s Award of the Government RB for the best works in the field of journalism, the state republican youth awards in the field of science and technology, awarding winners of teachers’ republican competition of Bashkir and Russian languages took place these days.

The varicoloured cultural program of the holiday includes the international festival «Ufa – City of Friendship and Unity», and also the festival of national cultures «Venok druzhby». The republican charitable marathon “Do good altogether”, which had started in Octyabrsky city became the important event too.

On October 9, in Ufa a traditional flowers-laying ceremony by the republican leadership to the Monument of Friendship took place and a solemn party, devoted to the Day of Republic and Year of Safe Childhood and Family Values Strengthening in RB was held in the Congress Hall.

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov during his speech at the solemn party named the Day of Republic as the holiday of love to our native land, fidelity to our ancestors’ traditions, multinational friendship and unity.

As always, celebrating of the Day of Republic is accompanied by mass sports events, among which is the IX Open Republican Festival of National Sports, the President RB Cup on Sports-Ballroom Dances, the Republic Bashkortostan Youth Championship on Classic Parachuting, and also a horse-racing holiday at the Ufa hippodrome "Akbuzat".

The celebrations devoted to the Day of Republic are held in all cities and areas of Bashkortostan.
