The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has met with the heads of TV- and radio-companies – divisions of the all-Russian state TV- and radio-broadcasting company (VGTRK) in Ufa. They arrived in the capital RB for participation in the meeting of the collegium of the radio-journal “Between Volga and Ural”. The head of the regional VGTRK division Rifat Sabitov has also taken part in the meeting, held within the frames of the forthcoming 55th anniversary of the radio-journal “Between Volga and Ural”. The anniversary will be celebrated in 2013.
The topic of the meeting was how modern mass-media should cover events in the country and in the Republic. In opinion of Rifat Sabitov the policy of VGTRK is directed to creation of positive moods among people.
The President RB has told about economic situation in Bashkiria, mentioning that our Republic is one of few Russian regions, which have no external debts. Demographic situation is becoming better here too.
“The journal “Between Volga and Ural” is an important media-resource today and this resource has to develop itself and from this point of view we receive full support and understanding of the President RB. The problem of international relations in the country is also vital, so the leadership of VGTRK pays much attention to broadcasting in national languages. We broadcast 24 hours a day in 54 native languages and such situation can’t be observed anywhere in the world” – Rifat Sabitov said.
“We are seeking the ways to move forward, something runs well, something not quite well but it is quite natural in the course of development. We are working for one goal and intend to cooperate with the journal further because it is very important to show the originality of Russia’s nations” – the President RB mentioned.
For the reference: the radio-journal “Between Volga and Ural” represents a united project of TV-radio companies of seven Russian regions: Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Mordvinia, Mari-Al and Komi. The journal works since June 1958 and this is the only radio-journal, preserved on the territory of the former USSR. The journal covers the most essential events in public-political, social-economic and cultural life of Russian regions. Serious attention is paid to international and inter-confessional relations and to the problems of preservation and development of aboriginal languages and cultures in the country.
