Rustem Khamitov has met Boris Titov, the Ombudsman for the Rights of Businessmen

On July 23, in the House of Republic the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a working meeting with the Ombudsman for the Rights of Businessmen at the President of Russia Boris Titov, the press-service of the head of the region informs.
Issues of small and medium business development, improvement of business climate and cooperation were discussed there.
Your arrival is significant for us, the President RB said. We have recently introduced in our republic a similar position of the Ombudsman for the Rights of Businessmen. Business protection is one of our priorities. And not only protection, but also business development, increase of industrial output. We should discuss what we can do at the level of subjects of Russia, in particular, here in Bashkortostan Republic.
We develop large enterprises in order to create techno-parks, industrial parks. We took the way of innovative development. We managed to be included in the Association of Innovative Regions of the Russian Federation. We started to develop very interesting branches, such as radio electronics, including microelectronics, IT branch.
We should move away from one-field type of republic economy. But at the same time, we understand that if there is a petrochemistry and oil refining – we have large scientific research institutions here.
Boris Titov, in turn, marked that the Ombudsman for the Rights of Businessmen is absolutely new institute for Russia.
Its creation is very indicative, the Ombudsman said. The country needs normal business climate. Diversification is one of major tasks of our economy. We should rely on a considerable amount of budget revenue sources which would appear in the diversified economy.
Creation of our institute is recognition of that, unfortunately, some problems exist. We see that the business climate in Russia is far from that investors make decisions on investments into new projects. And on the first place there is a task to protect the property, protect business, safety of business. There is a corruption, pressure upon business.
Thereupon we created the Centre of public procedures «Business against Corruption» which is engaged in daily work on separate problems, cases of infringement of businessmen rights. We already have more than 140 applications.
The fact that in Bashkiria the institute of the Ombudsman for the Rights of Businessmen appeared before its creation at the federal level testifies to that the head of the republic pays great attention to this problem, understands all necessity of its decision. In this sense we are adherents. I think that we can establish constant cooperation, Boris Titov concluded.
