Bashkortostan President and the Cuban diplomat discussed issues of bilateral cooperation

On July 24, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has met the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Republic Cuba in Russia Juan Valdes Figueroa.

Issues of economic relations strengthening and goods turnover increase between two republics, and also interactions in humanitarian sphere were discussed there.

Now trade and economic relations between Cuba and Bashkortostan are developed poorly. Following the results of the last year the foreign trade turnover made 7,5 thousand US dollars.

According to the press-service of the President RB, during conversation perspective directions of cooperation in oil refining, petrochemistry, agriculture, timber processing and tourism were defined. A possibility to create a program on training of health care professionals of our republic in establishments of public health services of Cuba was also discussed.

Rustem Khamitov underlined that today it is possible to speak and about cooperation of scientific institutions in oil refining, petrochemistry, chemistry.

Juan Valdes Figeroa underlined that relations with Bashkiria will be an important bridge in cooperation which Cuba very fruitfully establishes with the Russian Federation now.
