Rustem Khamitov has met parliamentary delegation of Afghanistan

On July 16, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met in the House of Republic delegation of the Sanhedrim of the National Assembly of Islamic Republic Afghanistan. The parliamentary delegation of Afghanistan included the Chairman of the Sanhedrim of National Assembly Fazl Hadi Muslimyar, members of Sanhedrim Abdul Hanan Hakvjun, Anarkoli Honaryar, Abdul Ahad Soltan Zoy, Jamadin Gyanval, and also the attache for cultural relations of the Embassy of Islamic Republic Afghanistan Nadzhebullah Shenvari and others. Prospects of cooperation of Bashkortostan Republic and Islamic Republic Afghanistan in the most different spheres were discussed at the meeting.

Rustem Khamitov marked that Bashkortostan is connected with Afghanistan with generality of culture, religion. In Ufa there is a Russia's Central Spiritual Governance for Muslims, more than thousand mosques operate, Muslim newspapers, magazines, electronic mass-media are published, the Russian Islamic University functions, regional forums of Muslim youth are held in the republic.

Rustem Khamitov underlined that the Afghani diaspora takes active participation in city and republican activity and informed that now the Society of friendship «Bashkortostan — Afghanistan» is under creation.

At the same time the President RB marked insufficient development of our foreign economic relations. For example, last year goods turnover between Bashkortostan and Afghanistan made about 80 million dollars.

Rustem Khamitov emphasized necessity of mutual cooperation expansion and defined its perspective directions. Among them there is interaction in the sphere of mechanical engineering, agriculture, timber processing, and also in tourism and rehabilitation development.

The Chairman of the Sanhedrim of National Assembly of Islamic Republic Afghanistan Fazl Hadi Muslimyar thanked the President of Bashkortostan for hearty welcome.

The Chairman of the Sanhedrim specified priority directions of cooperation – political and inter-parliamentary communications, trade and economic relations, culture, education and reminded, that the major purpose of such cooperation is the all-around development of historical friendship between Afghanistan and Russia.

Fazl Hadi Muslimyar invited businessmen of Bashkortostan to take part in realisation of economic projects in Afghanistan, to support in reconstruction of enterprises constructed in due time by means of the Soviet Union, and also underlined the special importance of cultural contact between Afghanistan and Russia. For their expansion the cultural centre of Afghanistan is created in Moscow.
