Rustem Khamitov has met with RAS vice-president Gennady Mesyats

On July 2, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov in the House of Republic has met with the vice-president of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Gennady Mesyats and the management of the Ural branch of RAS, the press-service of the President RB informs.
Scientific support issues of investment projects in Bashkortostan, and also attraction to the republic of RAS experts for the decision of tasks in the real sector of economy were discussed there.
An agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between Academy of Sciences of Bashkortostan, the Ufa centre of RAS and the Ural branch of RAS is signed during the meeting.
The main cooperation directions of scientific centres in the field of fundamental and exploratory research, natural-technical and social and humanitarian science are registered in the document.
The head of the republic informed that possible variants of the region development are reconsidered in Bashkortostan.
Rustem Khamitov named as positive example the Petrochemistry and Catalysis Institute of the Ufa research center of RAS which he had recently visited.
Speaking about creation of centres of gas chemistry, petrochemistry, Rustem Khamitov complained that «we make today products of the second or first production area of bulk chemistry. We do not have intermediate, light chemistry».
Also the head of the region said about the intention to create a precision engineering centre in the republic.
