Rustem Khamitov has met TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov

On June 22, in the House of Republic the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a working meeting with the Secretary General of TURKSOY international organisation Dusen Kasseinov. Issues of cultural cooperation were discussed, in particular, prospects of carrying out in Bashkortostan large festivals of Turkic art, and also matters of literary translation of pieces of art, the press-service of President RB informs.

I once again would like to express my gratitude for that work which you have been carrying out, the President RB said. He also informed that this year the republic will host the Fifth International Festival of Turkic Theatre Art "Tuganlyk".

According to Dusen Kasseinov, «one of problems for today is translations, both between Turkic languages, and into Russian, or from Russian language into our languages».

The President also expressed a wish «that new, significant forums, platforms, festivals to appear».

In 2014-2015 Russia will preside in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Among participants of SCO there are enough Turkic-Speaking States. It would be possible to suggest for SCO management to consider issues, including and development of Turkic culture, language, the President of Bashkortostan declared.

Besides, we should continue cooperation at municipal level. Today a desire to exchange experience, hold cultural events is obvious. We need this openness, Rustem Khamitov underlined.
