Rustem Khamitov has met with writers of Bashkortostan

The meeting of Bashkir writers with the President RB took place on Monday June 18, in the Akhmet-Zaki Validi’s National Library. Writers had for the first time a possibility to speak about their problems and plans directly to the President.

It was found out that authors had quite a lot of problems. These are insufficient financing of activity of Republican Union of Writers and the problem with the edition of works of Bashkir authors-beginners, Ref Tuigunov, the chairman of the board of Union of Writers said.

According to the participant of the meeting writer Vsevolod Gluhovtsev, issue of books only in large publishing houses of Moscow and St.-Petersburg provides the access to the Russian readership.

— Speaking about difficulties of book publishing, we should not forget about artistry of published works, — writer Marat Karimov marked. — Now almost everything that goes to the press is made without due critical analysis.

The translator and script writer Zuhra Burakaeva underlined the problem of lack of professional translators from the Bashkir language.

— Work of a writer, in my opinion, is quintessence of mind and experience, — the President said summing up the meeting. – Besides, the writer is a keeper of traditions and a spirit of the age. We are obliged to create conditions for writers’ creativity. We understand that economic issues are not the most important thing in life. The spiritual component is important, after all people are still sensitive to positive examples, aspire to beauty, therefore the literature still retains its main role.
