On May 22 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting with the delegation of Russian Cosmonautics Federation, headed by the space pilot of the USSR, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, the President of Russian Cosmonautics Federation Vladimir Kovalenok.

Delegation arrived in Ufa for participation in “Gagarin’s Days in Republic of Bashkortostan”. Prospects of opening of an aviation-space center for children and teenagers, problems in activity of the Space Service Center, established at the Bashkir State University, a trip of children from our Republic to cosmodrome “BAIKONUR” and other problems were under discussion in the course of the meeting.

“Our enterprises produce, in particular, fuel for rocket engines and components for spaceships. Aviation industry is well-developed here too” – the President RB mentioned and reminded that Ufa Engine Plant was the head enterprise in the branch on production of aviation engines for Russian Air Forces.

“Today we are training a big group of specialists for participation in prestigious air show in Farnborough, the Great Britain. We intend to present a stand of our Republic, conditionally called “Ufa is the city of aviation and space technologies”, there. We try to keep our industry, corresponding to the present level and to preserve modern powerful productions here” – Rustem Khamitov stated.
