Dmitry Medvedev supports widening of Russian regions’ powers

Dmitry Medvedev spoke again in support of widening of Russian regions’ powers at today’s widened gathering of the State Council in Kremlin. He says that the regions should use all subsidies and subventions from the federal exchequer with excessive pressing from above.

“For several years we have to enlarge that volume of resources, which can be used by regions and municipalities self-dependently” – the President of Russian stated – “This figure has already been discussed – approximately one trillion rubles”.

Dmitry Medvedev has expressed assurance that this step will give an additional impetus to development of many Russian regions and that is of paramount importance today.
