Agrarian forum in Ufa with participation of Vladimir Putin has broached upon many leading topics of the hour

The two-day all-Russian agrarian forum, which was declared over in Ufa yesterday, broached upon many actual problems Russian agrarians worried about. More than 800 delegates from all Russian regions have taken part in it. The whole range of problems, related to agrarian subject-matter as well as the main problems of Russian social-economic policy in the countryside, were under discussion there.
Five “round tables” have taken place on the first day of the forum. Thus, the topics “Stable development of rural territories and manpower of agricultural complex” and “Development of small business and co-operation in villages” were discussed in the Culture Palace “NEFTYANIK”. “Technological modernization of agricultural complex” and “Development of agricultural insurance” were discussed in the House of State Council RB and “Legal problems of land relations regulation in agriculture” – in the Ministry for agriculture RB.
In the first half of the second day of the forum the Minister for agriculture of Russia Elena Skrynnik has held the conference concerning the state program for development of agriculture and regulation of agricultural markets in 2013-2020.
The plenary session, held late at night in Congress-Hall with participation of the Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin and the first Vice-Premier Viktor Zubkov, has become the culmination of the forum. The talk turned out to be very useful, open and factful. The full stenographic report is published on Vladimir Putin’s site today.
Answering the questions of the TV Company “Russia” how the participants of the forum from Russian regions and from the federal center estimated experience of Bashkortostan in agriculture, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov answered:
“Since Bashkortostan is considered one of agricultural leaders in the country it is clear that we have much other regions can adopt: modern agricultural enterprises, the newest technologies and productions. I can say that we are satisfied with the themes we were discussing during conferences and “round tables”. All our initiatives are supported by the federal center and we have stable agreement that every ruble, invested by us in agriculture, is added by two rubles, transferred by the center. We are talking about the program “500 farms” (the project for modernization of milk farms) and many other programs.
Answering the question of the Belgian TV company VRT Jan Ballaiauw why the agrarian forum was so important for Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov answered:
“The matter is that villagers make up 40% of Republican population and we are found in the Top5 of the biggest agrarian regions in Russia. We hold the second place in the country in milk production and the eight – in grain cultivation. Our progress is in many respects connected with agriculture. We have far-reaching plans and intend to restore many farms, destroyed during perestroika. We will increase cattle livestock and intend to develop horse breeding. We have good prospects in these and other agrarian spheres”.
