Rustem Khamitov congratulated veterans and servicemen with Defender of the Motherland Day

Solemn concert, devoted to Defender of the Motherland Day, has taken place in Congress-Hall today with participation of the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, the chairman of the State Council-Kurultay-RB Constantine Tolkatchev, representatives of authority, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and military conflicts, representatives of veteran organizations, public and religious activists, cadets and pupils of military patriotic clubs.

Addressing himself to servicemen and veterans with words of welcome the President RB Rustem Khamitov mentioned:

“Today we are celebrating one of the most important days in Russia – the day of memory about feats of arms of older generations, the day of respect and thankfulness to all defenders of the Motherland. Our nation has rich combat traditions and warriors of Bashkortostan always served the Motherland, defending its independency. The country celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Patriotic War-1812 this year and we all know how one of the best armies of that time – the French army- had been defeated. Today our country also needs strong and combat-ready army”.

The President RB said, referring to the article of the Chairman of Russian Government Vladimir Putin, published by “The Russian Newspaper” on Monday, our goal was construction of 100% professional army. The military-industrial complex must not exhaust but replenish the economic powers of the country. According to M-r Khamitov Vladimir Putin poses the problems to raise the prestige of military professions and professions of specialist at defense-industrial enterprises. The Chairman of Russian Government also declared serious changes in recruitment for the army and training of army specialists.

“Our Republic follows the same serious approach to training of defenders of the Motherland. At present time more than 13 thousand young men from our Republic serve in the Russian army” – Rustem Khamitov reported and reminded that several cadet schools successfully worked in the Republic. All these schools are in good repute.

“The Defender of the Motherland Day is the festival of strong and brave men” – Rustem Khamitov said in conclusion – “You are support and hope of the country! Let me say many thanks to all of you for honest service and good deeds! I wish all of you strong health, good and well-being! Happy holiday, dear friends!”.

Further the President RB presented state awards to the veterans. “We all love our Motherland” – the President RB said, presenting the awards – “And we will do everything possible to make our Motherland strong and powerful and all people, living here, should feel assurance. Thank you all!”

The solemn meeting was finished with concert of Masters of Arts RB.
