Rustem Khamitov has taken part in conference call re modernization of regional education system

On February 13 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has taken part in video conference call re realization of the project for modernization of regional general education systems in the country, held by the Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin in the town of Kurgan, the public affairs service of the President RB reported. Prospects of renovation of Russian schools, strengthening of material and technical base of education sphere and the rise of competitive ability of Russian education were under discussion there.

The Chairman of the Russian Government has turned attention to the necessity to extirpate the widely spread practice of “compulsory-voluntary” money collection from parents of pupils at Russian schools. “The state continues financing education institutions in full volume” – Vladimir Putin stated – “The right for free general education is fixed in our Constitution and nobody intends to abolish this right”.

Talking about the first results of the federal program for modernization of regional general education system Vladimir Putin has mentioned that now the regions are righteous to make the decisions concerning the use of means, meant for the rise of wages at schools, self-dependently. The Chairman of the Government RF has said that by 2012 all Russian regions have to make the salaries of teachers and pedagogues equal to the average one in economics.
