Delegation of Armenian Embassy has visited Armenian Sunday school in Ufa

Within the frames of official visit to Republic of Bashkortostan the delegation of the Embassy of Armenia, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia in Russia Oleg Esayan, has paid a visit to the Armenian Sunday school in Ufa on February 8,
At present time one of the biggest Armenian Diasporas in Russia lives in Bashkortostan – about 10 thousand people. The Armenian national-cultural center “SEVAN” works in the Republic since 1998 and its activity is aimed at preservation of identity of Armenian nation and its cultural traditions. The Armenian Sunday school works in Ufa since 2001 on the base of the secondary school N10. At present time more than 100 pupils study here. N 2011 the school has become the winner of the international contest “For endowment to preservation of Armenian originality” in the nomination “The best Armenian home nest” beyond the borders of Armenia.
During the school meeting the Ambassador of Armenia has said that the very fact of the state Armenian Sunday school’s functioning in Bashkortostan can be considered unique and proves special attention of local authority to national education and preservation of cultural traditions of the nations, inhabiting Bashkortostan.
“Russia and Armenia preserve traditional friendship and brotherhood” - Oleg Esayan stated – During the visit of the President of Armenia Serge Sarkisyan to Russia in October 2011 the necessity to develop our mutual cooperation at the regional level was declared. The potential of our two regions is great for economics of Russia but it is enabled still insignificantly”.
