Ufa is considered as a candidate for holding a summit by Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Ufa is considered as a candidate for holding of a summit by Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov reported during regular gathering of the Ufa council.

According to him he was discussing this variant during his recent meeting with the Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

“This is the event of the global scale and if we manage to get the right to hold such summit in Ufa, it will undoubtedly raise the status of the city as well as its recognizability and the main thing that we will get a chance to put the city infrastructure into order and to erect new necessary objects”.

Rustem Khamitov has also mentioned that Ufa is becoming the center of business life and plenty of wide-scaled sports actions are already scheduled here: the Winter International Children Games-2013 and others.

“Ufa really begins a new life but in order to become the center of public, cultural and political activity we still should do much and first of all for the citizens of Ufa” – Rustem Khamitov believes.
