About 700 international observers invited to presidential elections in Russia
The Central Election Committee of Russia invited about 700 international observers for monitoring of the forthcoming presidential elections in Russia – more than twice than in 2008, RIA “NOVOSTI” reports.
According to the chairman of the Central Election Committee of Russia Vladimir Churov the Central Election Committee invited 698 international observers in total complexity. 200 people will arrive from OSCE and 200 – from CIS mission. 100 observers will arrive from OSCE PACE, 40 people – from PACE, 30-from SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) and six – from the North Council. Other four observers will arrive in Russia from the Islamic Cooperation Organization, 50 – from the Expert Community and 68 – from the partnership foreign electoral commissions.
361 observers were present at the presidential elecvtions-2008 in Russia.
