Dmitry Medvedev: "Multinational world is the unique advantage of Russia"

The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev was talking about the danger of international and inter-religious conflicts in his traditional annual Message today.

"Representatives of more than 180 nationalities live in Russia and the multinational world is the unique advantage of Russia" - the President of Russia mentioned.

The head of the state said that it was necessary to stand against any manifestation of international or religious discord.

"Nationalism is the weakness of the nation and not its power" - he stated - "but international and internal migration still causes serious intensities in the country, especially in big cities. We have to remove the economic basics for mass internal migration as well as for concentration of external migration in separate regions. We have to make the conditions for advance development of depressive and densely populated territories. Sure, we must struggle with any manifestations of extremism and with the crimes, aimed at fomentation of international discord and such work has to be our permanent priority".
