Alexander Degtyarev from Bashkiria can head the State Duma committee for education
The deputy from Bashkiria Alexander Degtyarev will probably head the State Duma committee for education. The decision to offer his candidature was made at the very first gathering of “United Russia” fraction after the State Duma elections, the press-service of the party reports.
Alexander Degtyarev was included into the list of 12 deputies from Bashkiria, elected to the State Duma from the political party “United Russia”. Before becoming a deputy he was the rector of the Ufa State Academy of economics and service and coordinator of the all-Russian National Front in Bashkortostan. On this post he will soon replace Gregory Balykhin.
The decision of “United Russia” fraction to eliminate Alexander Degtyarev to the office of the head of the State Duma education committee is different from the decision, made on December 17 during the widened gathering of the party's general council. That time the candidature of Vladimir Burmatov was originally announced.
The final decision concerning the executive positions in the lower chamber of the Russian parliament will be reached on December 21 during the first gathering of the State Duma of the sixth convocation. In accordance with the State Duma regulations the chairman and his deputies will be elected through the secret ballot with the use of the bulletins. The chairman is considered elected if more than a half of the deputies vote for him. The heads of the State Duma committees are elected by the majority of votes.
