The Council of Russians RB issued an appeal to Dmitry Medvedev

The Council of Russians of Bashkortostan issued the appeal to the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, in which it described the national-political situation in the Republic.
“Our decision to send an appeal to the President of Russia is concerned with the complain of one of the students, who stated during the meeting with Dmitry Medvedev that the extremists bands, fomenting the religious strife, allegedly started activating in our region after accession of a new President RB to the leadership” - the chairman of the Council's executive committee Timothy Azarov reported to the news agency “Bashinform” - “At the last gathering of the Council of Russians RB we decided that it was necessary to inform the President of Russia about real state of affairs and that no national discord and intensities were present in the region in reality. The corresponding appeal is already sent to Dmitry Medvedev”.
It should be reminded that during the meeting of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev with students at the Moscow State University, held last week, a student from the Moscow State Technical University by Baumann, a native of Bashkortostan, started complaining of “bad national policy” in the Republic. The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and and Republican public community were surprised with such statement. 2011 is announced the Year for consolidation of international harmony by the President of Bashkortostan in the Republic. Representatives of more than 120 nations live in the region and local authorities are doing much for harmonization of their relations. According to various sociological polls, only 1-2% of citizens RB worry about the national problems and more than 75% estimate the national policy, conducted in the region, as quite positive. For the last year no serious conflicts on national grounds have been registered in Bashkortostan, i.e. this data gives no reasons to talk about any “frictions” in sphere of international interrelations in the Republic.
