Rustem Khamitov met US Consul General in Yekaterinburg Michael Reinert

On October 4 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met the US Consul General in Yekaterinburg Michael Reinert, arriving in Ufa at the head of a business delegation of the USA.

The public affairs service of the President RB reports in the course of the talk with the diplomat Rustem Khamitov underscored that Bashkortostan was very big Russian region, holding the seventh place in the country by population.

“We produce plenty of oil products and chemicals. Every fifth ton of Russian oil is produced in Ufa and every sixth ton of diesel fuel is produced also in Ufa. We have well-developed agriculture and by agricultural output we are found in the Top 5 of Russian regions. We have good geographic position. About six-seven biggest Russian cities are located around us. All this makes us strong and stably developing. We look into the future with assurance” – the President of Bashkortostan said. He also reported that Bashkortostan was actively working over attraction of investors, including the foreign ones.

“We make comfortable conditions in order the investors would come here – various tax benefits, lowering of administrative barriers – I call that “administrative benefits”. Every week we meet representatives of big companies from Europe and Asia. We begin construction of several big productions on the territory RB. Because of many reasons the trade circulation between our Republic and the USA isn’t high. We mainly deliver fuels and mineral resources for your country and buy equipment and machines. Sure, we’d like to make these relations better, since we really need business partnership relations and we are ready to meet business people from the United States here” – Rustem Khamitov stated.

“I understood today in the morning that when the President of the United States Obama and the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev meet each other, they mostly discuss trade and investment relations. Therefore we know that both Russian and American party intends to improve this situation. We know that the American companies, which are present and work on the territory of Ural-Siberian region, strive for working here, in Bashkortostan. We call it “trade” or “business “mission because those companies, which arrived with us today, intend to widen their business here, in your region” – the US Consul General stated.
