The II Congress of Russians of Bashkortostan started working in Ufa

The II Congress of Russians of Bashkortostan started working in Ufa today, September 30. More than 300 delegates from 63 municipal districts RB and representatives of the Republican and federal authority, the World Council of Russians, the International Fund of Slavic literature and culture, the Russian Ministry of culture and the Russian Union of Writers are taking part in its work.

“We gathered here to consolidate the unity and great friendship of more than 130 nationalities, living on our territory, and to discuss the steps for further development of Russian national culture and traditions” – the chairman of the executive committee of the Congress of Russian RB Vladimir Samorodov said, opening the congress.

The actual problems, concerned with the state of Russian language and culture, revival of spirituality, consolidation of international agreement and moral problems will be discussed by the participants of the congress. After the congress is over, its delegates will lay flowers to S.T Aksakov’s monument and will take part in the solemn Aksakov’s evening party, held within the frames of the XXI international Aksakov’s festival at the Bashkir State Theater of opera and ballet.
