The Council of Russians RB comes out for the increase of the number of lessons in Russian language at schools

The chairman of the executive committee of the Council of Russians RB Vladimir Samorodov came out for the increase of the number of lessons in Russian language and literature at schools, speaking today before the delegates of the II Congress of Russians RB.

“Russian language and Russian literature make the foundation of cultural potential of our pupils, the foundation for formation of basic values in their minds, being a prerequisite of their general development and spiritual maturity” – he said.

In his opinion the reduction of the curriculum in these subjects can result in extirpation of cultural traditions and basic values among local population.

“We must immediately return Russian culture as a phenomenon of European and global scale, allowing all national cultures in Russia living and prosper near it, to our schools” - Vladimir Samorodov stated.
