Delegation of Bashkortostan visited the village of the Student Games in Kazan

The visit of official delegation RB, headed by the President RB Rustem Khamitov, to Kazan is going on. Today the delegation paid a visit to the village of the Student Games in Kazan.

The decision concerning erection of the village for the future Student Games was reached in 2009. The first students settled here in August 2010. At present time this is already the whole settlement, though it is called the Student Games’ Village. More than five thousand students from 42 countries live here in 20 five-storied tenements.

The village has its own Mayor Farid Abdulganiev. He has told the guests from Bashkortostan that the village already has its own drugstore, a rental agency and a service center. Other eight buildings for the Student Games-2013 are being erected here in parallel. 650 days are left till opening of the Games. The experience of the previous competitions of such level, in particular, the experience of Barcelona and Belgrade, was taken into account in the course of construction of the village.

36 big sports objects planned to be erected in Kazan for the Student Games. After the end of the Games all objects will be presented to the Kazan Federal University and to the Volga State Academy of physical training, sport and tourism. 13 thousand students will live in the village during the Games. During the previous Games in China 11 thousand lived in the village. Besides, Kazan hopes to break the record by the number of kinds of sport, taking part in the Games. There were 24 kinds of sport in China. In Kazan the students will compete in 27 kinds.

After the end of the inspection the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has left the writing in the book of the honorable guests.
