Bashkir Muslims will spend the night of Baraat

The Muslims of Bashkortostan intend to meet the holy night of Baraat – the night of purification from sins. Baraat falls on the night between July 15 and 16 and some Muslim scientists say this is the second night by significance after the Night of Predestination, celebrated on the 27th day of the month of Ramadan.

The night of Baraat is indicated in Koran as the holy night. It comes in the middle of the months of Shagban, esteemed by all Muslims, and falls on a half of the month before the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims have to ask Allah’s mercy and forgiveness this time. Baraat stands for “non-participation”, “complete separation” and “purification” in translation from Arab language. It is considered that two deliverances occur during this night: the first one is deliverance of sinners from the God’s mercy and from the Paradise and the second – the deliverance of godly people from misfortunes, sins and infernal fire.

Islamic theologians recommend people to revise their lives, acts and ideas during this night. Every person has to analyze all his actions and deeds, committed in the course of the year. If something sinful is discovered, one should repent it and never come back to such action. If somebody was offended, one has to make it up with him. All believers have to refuse from evil, enmity and pride.
