Talgat Tadjuddin shared his ideas with Dmitry Medvedev

The meeting of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev with the muftis, presenting the largest Muslim organizations of the country - The Central Spiritual Muslim Dept of Russia, The Muftis Council of Russia, the Coordination Center of the Northern Caucasus Muslims, the Russian Islamic Concord Association and the Spiritual Dept of Tatarstan Muslims – has taken place in Nalchik the day before.
The President of Russia listened to the problems the spiritual leaders of the country were talking about – such as the problems with quotes for Russian Muslims, going on a hadj – pilgrimage to Mecca, erection of mosques in Moscow and other Russian regions, security of the religious activists in the Northern Caucasus, religious education, Islamic themes in mass-media, attestation of imams, prohibition of religious literature and religious extremism.
The chairman of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia, the Supreme Mufti Talgat Tadjuddin told the President of Russia about his idea concerning training of the religious specialists for the Russian Armed Forces. He believes that the career officers may stay in the army as prayers after the end of their army service. Besides, the Supreme Mufti suggested that the pupils at Russian schools shouldn’t be separated by religions.
“The basic values mainly coincide at the heart” – he said.
Dmitry Medvedev promised the Muslim leaders his help in solution of many problems Russian Muslims face but asked the Muslim community to help the state in its struggle with Muslim radicals.
