Bashkortostan has signed the cooperation agreement with «NIS GLONASS»

Bashkortostan entered into the agreement on strategic cooperation with the national navigation services provider "NIS GLONASS».

At the meeting with the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov on June 15, the general director of "NIS GLONASS» Alexander Gurko marked that in the history of the company it is the first case of signing of the similar agreement with a region.

— We, as a rule, do not have such practice, — he said. — But in the given case we consider that such cooperation will allow to create a showpiece zone for introduction of GLONASS technologies that subsequently other regions could make use of this experience. Therefore we regard Bashkortostan as our strategic partner.

At the meeting with Rustem Khamitov representatives of «NIS GLONASS» discussed also ways of introduction of space navigating technologies in the territory of Bashkortostan. The concluded agreement assumes a number of large-scale projects of republican and inter-regional value. Among them there is an introduction of paid system for 12-ton cars on public roads, introduction of intellectual transport system for the city of Ufa, and also development of such large-scale project, as "ERA-GLONASS" aimed at decrease of death rate and traffic accidents on the Russian roads. It implies equipping of vehicles by satellite navigation communication devices GLONASS. In case of an accident the information about a vehicle, including its exact co-ordinates, is automatically transferred to the Emergency Response Center. The operator having contacted with the driver and having received acknowledgement about the accident, proceeds to dispatch emergency services.

According to Rustem Khamitov, besides the offered projects on GLONASS introduction in the transport sphere, there are good prospects of application of these navigating satellite technologies in agriculture of Bashkortostan.
