A Mari gymnasium will be opened in Bashkortostan

A Mari national gymnasium will be opened in Bashkortostan. The gymnasium is planned to start working in Mishkinsky region RB, as the Minister of education RB Alfis Gayazov reported at the meeting of the commission under the Government RB on realization of the law RB “The languages of nations RB.

“Opening of national gymnasiums is considered one of our most important aims in accordance with this program” – he said – “55 gymnasiums and lyceums of 133 in the Republic are the national ones for today – these are the Bashkir, Tatar and Chuvash gymnasiums. We pay serious attention to their material and technical bases. For the last years one national gymnasium has been reconstructed and six new ones erected”.

Alfis Gayazov has also mentioned that 43% of all schools in Bashkortostan are national and more than 73% of all pupils in the Republic are taught in native languages.
