The bill “The measures on foods quality assurance in Republic of Bashkortostan” is to be introduced to Bashkir parliament

The workgroup of the State Council RB, responsible for monitoring of the situation in the food market RB, has discussed the bill “The measures on foods quality assurance in Republic of Bashkortostan”.

“At present time our citizens are practically unprotected from low quality foodstuffs” – the deputy chairman of the committee on industry, transport, building, communication and business undertakings RB Elena Rodina said during the workgroup’s gathering – “There are big well-known food producers, found under permanent control of our supervisory boards but there are also the jobbers. Some of them make foods maximally cheap, saving on quality. The bill we intend to introduce is aimed at regulation of the relations, connected with participation of the authority in foods quality and security assurance”.

The bill is called to determine the competence of the authority RB in sphere of foods quality and security assurance and offers to establish the commission, responsible for foods quality assurance. Besides, the bill offers to introduce the voluntary marking “The product of Bashkortostan”, which testifies that the foods are made of natural food staff and meet all quality and security requirements, fixed by the Republican legislation.

According to the results of the discussion the workgroup made the decision to introduce the bill to the committee on industry, transport, building, communication and business undertakings RB in order to prepare it for further consideration by the Republican parliament in the first reading.
