More than one billion rubles will be spent for children’s summer rest in Bashkiria

It is planned to allocate about 1,239 billion rubles from the consolidated budget for children’s summer rest and recovery in Bashkiria, as the deputy Minister of education RB Arthur Surin reported today during the gathering of the Republican three-sided commission for regulation of social and labor relations.

The lion’s share of the means, meant for children’s rest and recovery, will be appropriated by the Republican budget – more than 1,04 billion rubles. The federal center will give 73 million and the municipalities – 125 million. In a whole much more means for children’s rest will be spent in 2011 than in 2010. In 2010 the Republican budget has allocated only 748 million rubles for these purposes.

“In summer 2011 we intend to pay much more attention to widening of the forms of rest for children” – Arthur Surin said – “And along with the traditional summer camps we are going to open expeditions, summer schools for gifted kids and various art studios”.

It is planned that about 400 thousand children will be involved in organized summer rest and temporary employment in Bashkiria this summer – i.e. 98% of the overall number of pupils in the Republic.

The mechanism for organization of children’s summer rest has been changed in Russia in 2010. These competences have been transferred to the regions and now regional authorities have to find means for children’s rest self-dependently.

As the deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Fidus Yamaltdinov reported, the first experience of self-dependent children’s rest organization in Bashkiria proved to be rather successful. According to the official data the number of children, having rest in 2010, was much higher than in 2009. At the same time this sphere faces too many still unsolved problems – plaintive state of the material and technical base in many summer camps, not enough security level during rest of the children and during their transportation to the rest camps etc.
