International conference, devoted to the 120th anniversary of prominent diplomat Karim Khakimov is going on in Ufa

The international scientific-practical conference “Russia and Islamic world: history and prospects of civilized interaction”, devoted to the 120th anniversary of the outstanding diplomat, a native of Bashkiria Karim Khakimov, is going on in Ufa. Well-known diplomats, scientists, activists of culture, representatives of mass-media from many Russian regions, CIS and foreign countries are taking part in its work.

The plenary session of the conference is held on March 26 in the Congress-Hall, Ufa, and the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Volga federal district Gregory Rapota, the President RB Rustem Khamitov and the chairman of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept RB, Supreme Mufti Talgat Tadjuddin are present at the session.

Various aspects of Karim Khakimov’s political heritage and his influence on development of Russian diplomacy, the actual aspects of Russian foreign policy in the Middle East, the evolution of Islam in the modern world, the problem of Islamic radicalism and other questions are under discussion.

The first demonstration of the documentary film: “Karim Khakimov is an Arab Kremlin vizier” will take place after the end of the session.
