Days of Republic of Mordvinia start in Bashkiria

The Days of Republic of Mordvinia will be held in Bashkiria on March 9-12. The delegation of Mordvinia will arrive in Bashkiria, consisting of the first deputy Chairman of the Government, Minister of culture of Mordvinia Peter Tultaev, the Minister for national policy Alexander Luzgin, the deputy Minister for national policy Alexander Kargin, the executive director of the Volga Finno-Ugric culture center Uri Michanin, the director of the Mordvinian Republican local lore museum Paul Kaligin, the editor-in-chief of the magazine “YAKSTER TYACHTENYA” Vera Bryndina and the editor-in-chief of the magazine “CHILISEMA” Nikolai Ishutkin.

The conference “The culture of Mordvinian nation is the property of multinational Russia” will take place within the frames of the Days in the Congress-Hall, Ufa, and the press-conference with participation of leaderships of both republics will be held there too.

The Mordvinian delegation will pay visits to the town of Sterlitamac and Fedorovsky region RB.

For the reference: Mordvinian population is more than 26 thousand people in Bashkiria and Mordvinians mainly live in Belebeevsky, Bijbuliaksky, Davlekanovsky, Duvansky, Ermekeevsky, Karmaskalinsky and some other regions. The Mordvinian diaspora in Bashkiria has a good base for preservation of its national language and culture. Mordvinian language is studied at 13 Republican schools. 2216 pupils of Mordvinian nationality study at the Republican schools. 442 pupils study Mordvinian language as a separate subject. The Mordvinian national-cultural autonomy RB, headed by Nikolai Gerasimov, plays an important role in preservation of cultural and lingual Mordvinian traditions. Today this organization unites the whole Mordvinian diaspora RB and thanks to its activity the problems of national education and development of national arts and crafts are solved in Bashkiria quite successfully. Thanks to the intergovernmental agreement about cooperation in humanitarian sphere and to the cooperation between ministries of culture of Mordvinia and Bashkiria the close relations of Bashkir Mordvinians with their historical motherland are developed very intensely.
