The first theologians of Bashkiria examined in Ufa

The exams for the first listeners of the eparchial theological courses, opened last year autumn, have taken place in Ufa. The theological courses were opened in Ufa for training of the secular specialists, which would work under the local eparchies. It is expected the graduates will be engaged in missioner and social activity and also in pedagogical work. Such form of education had no analogues either in Bashkiria or in the whole of Russia before. Not long ago this know-how of Ufa eparchy was adopted by Moscow clergy. Similar courses will be opened there soon too.

At present time 80 people study at the theological courses in Ufa. Originally Ufa eparchy planned the level of training at such courses should be rather high, so the entrance commission approved only the people with higher education, who knowingly decided to devote their lives to work in this sphere.

The course of education is meant for two years. At present time the theological courses haven’t yet the status of an education institution but the question concerning the licensing of the courses is found under consideration now.
