Evacuation of Russian students from Egypt was initiated by Rustem Khamitov

The evacuation of Russian students fr om Egypt to Ufa was initiated by the President of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov, the chairman of the council for state and inter-religious relations under the President RB Vyacheslaw Pyatkov reported to “Bashinform”.
“The Russian state is not indifferent in the destiny of its citizens” – he said – “After consultations with the Ministry of foreign affairs RF the President RB made the decision to send an aircraft in order to evacuate the citizens of Bashkiria as well as the students from other regions from Cairo”.
According to the chairman of the council for state and inter-religious relations the Russian Embassy in Egypt reported that there was no danger for Russian citizens in Egypt to the latest moment. Nonetheless the Republican leadership made the decision to send an aircraft to Egypt after consultations with the Ministry of foreign affairs RF.
“Everything was initiated by the President of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov” – he mentioned – And the means were taken from the Republican budget. For all students this flight was absolutely free. Now we are going to contact with the representatives of other regions in order to send their students home”.
The aircraft TU-154 with the Russian citizens on board has landed at the Ufa airport on February 3 at 7 o’clock in the morning. Students from Tatarstan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, and Ulyanovsk regions, from Moscow, Penza and Nizhniy Novgorod travelled together with the Bashkir students. The majority of the students studied at the Egyptian institutes – the International Islamic University “Al-Azkhar” and at Cairo State University.
The students from Bashkiria were met by their parents. The representatives of other regions were delivered for Ufa mosque “Ikhlas”, wh ere they received hot breakfast.
