Bashkir Mari will gather in Birsk

The meeting “Work balance of Mari public organizations RB in 2010 and the aims-2011” will be held in the town of Birsk on February 18, the consultant of Mari historical-cultural center “Mishkino” Ludmila Imaeva reported to the news agency “Bashinform”.

Representatives of 17 regions RB – the nests, where Mari people compactly live – will take part in the gathering.

“We intend to discuss successes and shortcomings in activity of our organizations in 2010” – Ludmila Imaeva says – “Besides, we will work up the plan of participation of Mari people in the festival “Friendship of Nations”, appointed on April 2011”.

There are more than 105 thousand Mari people in Bashkiria, mainly inhabiting the northern and the north-western regions of the Republic.
