Happy International Day of elderly people!

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov congratulated all pensioners, the veterans of war and labor with the International Day of elderly people, celebrated today:

“On October 1 we traditionally say the words of thankfulness, appreciation and support to you.

The decades of intense labor stand behind your shoulders and your experience and wisdom have special meaning for education of younger generations, preservation of our rich traditions and further movement ahead today.

In the jubilee year of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War I’d like to express special respect and to bow before all veterans of war and toilers of home front. Your life represents the best example of bravery, diligence and devotion to our Motherland.

Today it is important to remember about problems of elderly people and about the ways for their solution. The all-sided assistance to the representatives of older generations and steady improvement of their living standards are the top priorities of our state policy. Modernization of the pension system and improvement of social and medical services are the main directions in this activity. In order to provide wider access to these services we successfully develop the project “Social Card of Bashkortostan”. We will attract representatives of business and train specialists for the social sphere for additional help to the elderly people and for those, who are still able and ready to work, we will make suitable conditions for their labor activity and re-qualification, working up special employment programs.

Please, let me say many thanks to you for your labor and for everything you’ve done for our Republic and for the country. I wish you strong health, active longevity, well-being and optimism!” – said in the complimentary address of the President RB.
